STANDARD OPERATING PRACTICES
-
For recreation front line leaders
-
For aquatics front line leaders
Online Leader allows clients to customize the training by importing their organization’s policies and procedures that relate to each section of the training. The training has been designed to provide leaders with important policy and procedure information as it relates to the specific day-to-day tasks that the staff will be performing. Our training has received outstanding reviews from summer camp leaders. They reported that scenario-based learning helped them apply policies and procedures to common relevant situations that they will experience on the job.

COUNT ME IN
-
For any front-line leaders working with children
Count Me In has been developed and tested with the input of hundreds of experts, managers, and leaders in sport and recreation.
The 45-minute Count Me In training delivers a set of fun and practical strategies proven to be effective in active group settings. These tools are great for all children but are designed specifically to support neurodiverse* children to participate.
Increasing expectations for the inclusion of all children combined with rising levels of anxiety have created a critical need to upskill leaders. Count Me In shows leaders how to identify and avoid possible triggers of difficult behaviour – including many causes they may not have considered.

Count Me In also shows leaders a variety of ways to support diverse groups to follow directions and self-regulate. The course has some great tips including communicating with parents when needed, and lots of fun activities to help make everyone’s day calmer and more fun.
The course shares a variety of media-rich samples of the top 5 ’tools’ to support positive behaviour including:
-
Creating Predictability
-
Helping Self-regulation
-
Managing Pacing to Support Processing
-
Using Transitions
-
Motivating with Praise and Rewards
Videos, photos, reflection activities and illustrated characters help to support learning throughout the course. Each section is reinforced with a knowledge check. Count Me In has been created in a high-quality Learning Management System that is mobile-friendly and allows learners to print a certificate upon completion.
Count Me In was developed with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Ontario Freestyle Skiing. Instructional Design was led by eLearnology and content research by HappiLife By Design.
*The research is based around strategies that work most of the time for a variety of complex neurodiverse learners such as people with autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, learning disabilities, sensory challenges, etc.
